Scannera is engineered with a strict On-Device Data Architecture:

• Zero Centralized Document Servers: Core application functionality—including camera capturing, page edge detection, image filter enhancements, perspective correction, PDF rendering, watermark embedding, and QR code generation—runs entirely on your local device hardware.
• No Centralized Uploads: Your scanned documents, captured images, exported PDFs, written annotations, digital signatures, and generated QR codes are never uploaded, transmitted, or monitored by us or any centralized server owned by Scannera.

3. Detailed Breakdown of Permissions & Functionalities

To deliver its core features, Scannera requests specific Android OS runtime permissions. Every permission requested is directly tied to an in-app feature and operates within minimum-scope requirements:

4. Feature-Specific Data Disclosures

A. Document Scanner & PDF Editor

Data Involved: Camera feeds, scanned photos, cropped images, PDF annotations, text highlights, and digital signatures.

Handling: All image processing, crop calculations, annotation rendering, and watermark embedding are executed locally via native device code. You maintain 100% ownership and control over where exported files are saved or shared.

B. QR & Barcode Suite (Scanner & Generator)

Data Involved: Scanned barcodes, generated QR code payloads (including Wi-Fi credentials, vCard contact info, URLs, plain text, and social links).

Handling: QR/Barcode decoding happens instantaneously on-device. When creating custom QR codes, input details are formatted into a matrix image purely inside your app instance. We do not index, track, or save your generated QR contents.

C. Optional Google Drive Backup & Cloud Integration

Data Involved: Scanned PDF documents, local folder backup files, and Google user authentication tokens.

Handling:

• Cloud backup is an optional, user-triggered feature.
• If enabled, Scannera uses official Google Sign-In SDKs to authenticate directly with Google.
• Files are synced directly between your Android device and your personal Google Drive storage account.
• Scannera developers do not receive, store, or have access to your Google account credentials, personal Drive folders, or backed-up files.
• Use of information received from Google APIs strictly complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

D. In-App Purchases & Billing Information

Data Involved: Order IDs, purchase status, and entitlement tokens for the Lifetime Pro License.

Handling: Financial transactions are processed entirely by Google Play Billing services. Scannera does not collect, store, or process payment cards, banking credentials, billing addresses, or legal names. Google Play returns a secure cryptographic token to unlock Pro features.

5. Analytics & Diagnostics

To maintain app stability and prevent crashes across different Android device configurations, Scannera may collect minimal, non-personally identifiable diagnostic telemetry (e.g., system crash logs, hardware specifications, Android OS version). This technical data contains zero document contents, personal identifiers, or location data and is used strictly for crash debugging.

6. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services

We do not sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal data or document content. We only integrate official framework SDKs necessary for app infrastructure:

• Google Play Services / Billing: For handling securely verified in-app purchases.
• Google Drive API: For executing user-requested cloud backups to your private drive.

7. Data Retention & Deletion Policy

• Local Data: Your scans and saved files remain on your device until you manually delete them inside the app or uninstall the application.
• Cloud Backups: Files backed up to your personal Google Drive account remain in your drive until you manage or delete them through your Google Account.
• Data Clearance: Uninstalling Scannera immediately removes all local app-cached files, app state settings, and temporary scan memory from your device.

8. Children’s Privacy Protection

Scannera is a general utility app and does not target, knowingly collect, or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain EU jurisdictions) in compliance with COPPA and GDPR requirements.

9. Security Safeguards

We prioritize user data safety:

• Data processed locally benefits from native Android Application Sandbox security.
• All network communications for in-app purchases and Google Drive syncs are encrypted in transit using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS protocols.

• Right to Access & Control: Because your files reside on your device, you can access, export, modify, or delete your content at any time directly through the app interface.
